Ceramic unreinforced covering. It is intended for a packaging of nonlinear-resistance arresters with a nominal voltage of 3, 6, 10, 35 kV. It meets the requirements of GOST 5862-79. The material of the insulation part is a ceramic electrotechnical material of a subgroup 110 GOST 20419-83.

The arresters are installed for an overvoltage protection of the electric installations in AC or DC networks.
The arresters of the RVS series (nonlinear-resistance station-class arrester), which are equipped with PR covering, are designed for protection from atmospheric (lightning) overvoltage of 50 and 60 Hz AC equipment at voltage classes of 15, 20, 35 kV and correspond to III group arresters, i.e. the ones of light duty.
