Quartz rods, or beads, as they are also called, are one of the most widely manufactured derivative made of quartz glass. Due to its chemical and physical characteristics, quartz glass is extremely resistant to a rapid temperature change. This is exactly what determines the range of use of quartz products in production.

The beads are extensively used in the semiconductor, lighting engineering and chemical industries. They are applied for the manufacture of quartz fiber and accessories, an impressive list of radiating systems and devices for heating.

Depending on the material quality, the quartz rods are divided into two types: the rods made of transparent glass perform the radiation of visible light spectrum, and the ones made of the nontransparent glass perform an infrared radiation.

The products are made of quartz glass and characterized by a smooth, flowed surface. The beads are resistant to darkening, crystallization, thermal and chemical influence. The impurities are permitted neither in the mass nor on the surface of the glass.

The amorphous form of silicon oxide being in the quartz glass provides a low coefficient of heat growth and heat conduction for the rods, which caused their use in various industries related to a high amplitude of temperature difference.

In a standard way the beads are made in diameter from 3 to 20 mm, but it is possible to make quartz rods of other parameters to order.
