Also they are used for insulation of rooms, work in which requires high-temperature protection. Optical quartz glass is produced using rather different technology than optical glass made of any other materials. This glass has a simple chemical composition, the only component of which is a silica. The main characteristics are high mechanical strength in a wide temperature range, absence of hygroscopic properties, resistance to water and acid effects.
