Dyurans’s and Klinger’s glasses

Klinger_Durans

Dyurans’s glass is a smooth glass, made from thermally toughened borosilicate glass. Both of its surfaces – observation and opposite – are smooth.

Water gage Dyurans’s glass is used in the following boiler equipment to indicate the level of the petrochemical liquid:

  • In the steam boilers that have no mica gasket, with a pressure of 3,5 MPa (35 kgf/sq.cm) and a temperature not exceeding 243°С.
  • In the containers bearing petrochemical products, that also have no mica gasket. The usage is possible at a pressure up to 16 MPa (160 kgf/sq.cm) inclusive and at a temperature not exceeding 100°C.
  • In the steam boilers with a pressure of 3,5 to 12 MPa (over 35 to 120 kgf/sq.cm) inclusive, the usage is possible if mica gasket is available (GOST 13752), which will protect a glass from the direct influence of steam and water.

Dyurans’s glass in accordance with GOST is a colorless glass with polished parallel surfaces. Provided that it does not reduce the coefficient of directional light transmittance, the greenish, bluish or yellowish tinge of the glass is permissible. The number of the directional light transmittance of smooth glasses less than 0,85 per 1 cm is not permissible. For curvature of the observation surface with respect to the opposite, the permissible value is 0,2 mm (the glass length is less than 190 mm), and 0,3 mm if the glass length exceeds 190 mm. The Durans’s glass surface, which is perpendicular to the observation one, may have a curvature not exceeding 2 mm. The limit deviations are: L – 1,5 mm, W – 1,0 mm, T – + -1,0 mm

Detailed consultation of our experienced managers will help you to get all the necessary information about the selected products.

Application of Klinger’s glasses

Klinger’s glass is intended for use in boiler equipment. The areas of its application include chemical and pharmaceutical industries, petroleum, food-processing, etc. The optimum utilization of Klinger’s glass is at a saturated vapor pressure not above 35 bar. The features of this reflexive observation glass make it possible to take the readings clearly. In other environments it is efficiently to use Klinger’s glass in the vessels with a pressure not above 400 bar and at a temperature not exceeding 400 degrees.

Reflective Klinger’s glass is a glass having the hardness degree of 865±55 nm/cm, which makes it thermally stable. It is able to withstand differential temperature up to 220 degrees. This glass has a polished observation surface and grinding opposite one and is colorless. The glass may have a bluish, yellowish or greenish tinge, if it does not reduce the coefficient of directional light transmittance. Under a length of less than 190 mm, the curvature of the front and the opposite surface can not exceed 0,2 mm, and under the glass length over 190 mm – 0,3 mm. The lateral face of the glass should not have a curvature above 2 mm.
