GOST 3028-98 “Chipped mica”
SMSHCH – chipped muscovite mica
SFSHCH – chipped phlogopite mica
Chipped mica is represented by mica plates of round, oblong and arbitary shape, with dimensions from 0,5 to 50 and more cm2, and 10-45 mym thick. The mica has got this name due to the method of its manufacture, based on the properties of mica crystals to split along the parallels.
Raw materials for the chipped mica manufacture are semirefined and split mica.
Chipped mica is used for electric insulation in the high capacity and high-voltage machines, large turbine-type generators and water-turbine generators etc., making from it laminated mica products – micanites.
